Tender Tasty Tantalising Meat Birds!

Grow them fast for fryers or slow for roasters; they'll always turn out lip-smacking good!

BROILERS/CORNISH ROCK GIANTS
These are the fastest growing most efficient meat birds available. Their large breasts and thighs give them a great finish. This hybrid bird is good to butcher at a range of weights. For best results butcher the hens at 5-6 lbs live weight, which is 6- 8 weeks. The Roosters can be grown to 8-10 lbs. live weight in 10-12 weeks. The rooster puts more of his initial growth into his frame so he makes a better roaster. Read the special growing recommendations on page 5. These birds give excellent results under the right conditions, but are harder to raise than dual-purpose birds. For a hardier choice try the Cornish X.

Game Hens; we send only the sexed hens to give

weeks of age. Everybody's favorite treat! Butchered

spring thaw!!  Note:  A Cornish Game Hen is a female broiler.

CORNISH CROSS

This dual-purpose bird is a pleasure to grow. Our
unique cross between the original old breed female (traditionally used for meat) and the modern Cornish Giant Male gives you the best of both worlds. A bird that makes a good roaster without having the leg problems, heart attacks, or "waterbelly" commonly seen with modern meat birds, since it is slower growing. The Cornish X is capable of finishing at weights similar to those of the broiler but will take 2-4 weeks longer. The Cornish X being a first-generation cross, tends to be uneven with 3-6% finished undersized.  Good quality feed is critical to the performance of the Cornish Cross.
